The Reno County Veterans’ Memorial is a tribute to those who served in all branches of the U.S. Military from the Civil War through today. Inspired by the National Vietnam Memorial and local veterans’ memorials around the country, the memorial will feature the names of veterans from Reno County, or those who called Reno County home. The 13,000+ names will be on seven stately granite panels — listed from those who served in the Civil War through today. The Memorial represents the commitment of all citizens of Reno County to honor those who entered into military service.

Led by a partnership of the American Legion, VFW, and the City of South Hutchinson, a proposed site was selected near the intersection of K-96, K-61, and U.S. 50. The primary impetus for the project is the desire for a centralized location for ceremonies, celebrations, and remembrances of all those who proudly served our country. The attractive Memorial grounds will also feature two displays of retired military vehicles as well as flags representing all branches of the U.S. Military. For more information or to submit a name for the memorial, please go to renocountyveterans.com.
